My Story

Fifteen years ago, I began my career in education as a middle school English teacher. My building had a FANTASTIC school librarian who was instrumental in helping me become a better teacher. When I started thinking about starting a Master's program, I knew I wanted to be like her. Instead of only helping students in my classroom, I would be able to help students and teachers in my entire school.

I've enjoyed a wonderful tenure as a high school librarian, supporting a school with over 2600 students. During that time, I also completed a doctoral degree in Curriculum & Instruction Leadership. My doctoral research centered on digital citizenship curriculum in secondary schools.

After publishing "Digital Citizenship in Action" (ISTE, 2017), I began speaking at more educational conferences and consulting with local school districts. The same desire that led me from the classroom to the school library has now led me to the place I find myself today - supporting as many educators and students as I can with the gifts and talents God has gifted me.

In addition to speaking, writing, & teaching, I keep fairly busy driving my three kids around town, hanging out with my husband, and spoiling my fur baby.
